Tennents Tartan Army Cup 2008FIRST ROUND (Sun 9 Mar) Bonnybrig 5, Glasgow 4 QUARTER FINALS Sun 30 Mar
SEMI FINALS (Sun 20 April) Winner 1 v Winner 4 FINAL MATCH REPORT: AUCHTERMUCHTY / BLACKEARNSIDE 4, WESTA 2
On a heavy pitch at the Low Road park the Auchtermuchty and Blackearnside Tartan Army entertained the WESTA Tartan Army, in a match sponsored by Tennants, in front of a good size crowd. The home side started of on the front foot with the pace of Callum Dick who was playing up front alongside his dad Graeme causing problems for the WESTA defenders. Callum managed to get on the end of some good through balls but either the keeper was up to it or the ball was slipping by the post. After about 15 mins Graeme had to come off after running himself into the ground to be replaced by the more youthful Walker, who scored after 30 mins with a low shot past the keeper. AuchterEarnside continued to squander good chances before half-time. The WESTA boys broke in numbers but never tested Wells in goal as the defence marshalled by Robertson and McGlashan held firm. The second half was only a minute old when after good play up the right a cross to the back post was headed in. AuchterEarnside regained the lead after a good save from the keeper the ball broke to Callum who lashed the ball home. Callum became provider with a good cross into Stuart Grant who sneaked in, in front of the defence and slotted the ball home. The WESTA boys weren’t finished yet as after a good run the forward smashed the ball past Wells. Callum, who was involved throughout the game, was brought down for a penalty that was despatched into the top corner by Sean Grant. The home team decided to shut up shop and put on the experience of Jimmy Grieve, 63, and Jimmy Leitch, 46. There was no more scoring but the game was played out in a good spirit. Both teams enjoyed the hospitality of the Forest Hills Hotel, who laid on a great buffet, and the wonderful music of Ronnie Reid and the boys. > 2007 Final: Full Match Report Euro 2008 Review - Ticket Allocation, Distribution and Customer ServicesOne of the main aims of ATAC in 2007 was to perform a comprehensive review of the Scotland Supporters Club at the end of the Euro 2008 campaign from a fans perspective. An 8 week consultation period took place and information was collated from ATAC clubs, their members and SSC members. From this a report was produced entitled "Euro 2008 Review - Ticket allocation, Distribution and customer services". The report was sent in to the SFA on 5th December 2007 and there was a meeting with the SFA and SSC on Tuesday 22nd January to discuss the issues raise by the document.
You can now look at the original Review document and the minutes of the meeting. We are happy to report that the meeting with the SFA/SSC was very positive, as was the intention with the review document. About ATACThe Association of Tartan Army Clubs (ATAC) was formed in 2000 to act on behalf of fans of the Scottish national team, both home and away. ATAC directly represents over 1500 members of affiliated Tartan Army clubs throughout Scotland and beyond, but does not claim to directly represent the Tartan Army. Each affiliated club sends a representative to the ATAC committee. This committee meets regularly with Scottish Football Association, promoting the best interests of every Scotland fan. Before ATAC was formed, there was no formal dialogue between Scotland fans and the SFA. You don't have to be a member of an affiliated Tartan Army Club to get your viewpoint across. ATAC will listen to any point raised by a member of the Scotland Supporters Club. If you have an issue you wish to raise, please email us. > View ATAC Constitution.
Member ClubsThe Association of Tartan Army Clubs currently consists of the following supporters clubs. Contact and membership details can be found on the club websites.
Full member clubs must have over 50 members who are current members of the Scotland Supporters Club; associate member clubs must have 25 or over. Full member clubs send a representative to ATAC committee meetings and SFA meetings; associate member clubs may send a rep only to SFA meetings, space permitting. All clubs attend the AGM and have 3 representatives on the ATAC discussion list. > Ever thought about starting a Tartan Army club?
SSC / ATAC INVERNESS SEVENS 2007
Twelve teams took part in the annual SSC / ATAC Tartan Army 7-a-side competition in June. This year, the tournament was held in sunny Inverness, leaving a lot of players glowing red like lobsters. In a change from usual, neither EASTA or Perthshire made the final, which WESTA won, beating WEBATA 2-1 with a very late winner! |
